JESUS CHRIST
IS IN OUR STORY

Cornerstone Faith Academy was not something we originally planned. It is something that God clearly led us to over time through our own homeschool journey, life experiences, and the doors He opened along the way.

For many years, I homeschooled our own children and developed a deep love for the homeschool lifestyle. During that season, I was diagnosed with kidney failure and began dialysis treatments. Because of the demands of dialysis, I made the difficult decision to place our children at Family Christian Academy, believing I was no longer well enough to continue homeschooling them.
What I did not expect was that God had other plans.
Instead of stepping away from teaching, the Lord opened a door for me to begin teaching at Family Christian Academy, where I served for three years teaching history, science, and drama club. During that time, it became very clear to me that teaching was something God had placed on my heart. Even though my life path and formal education had never originally pointed in that direction, God used that season to make it clear that my calling is to teach and invest in young people.
We serve as Sunday School teachers at Sterling Wood Church, a church family we deeply love and are grateful to be part of. I also lead a small group for our church content team, helping guide and support those involved in church media content. That experience became especially meaningful during my final year at FCA when I stepped into the role of Journalism teacher, allowing my love for media and storytelling to support students in a new way.
As that season was coming to a close, I had already begun planning to step away from FCA in November in order to pursue the homeschool path again. Shortly after, FCA announced in January that the school would be closing its doors. Looking back, it became a powerful reminder of how perfectly timed God’s plans truly are. What once felt like a difficult transition became a clear confirmation that the Lord was already preparing the next step.
Justin, my husband, plays an equally important role in this journey. He is the co-owner of Innovative Plant Consulting, where he leads and manages his own business. His leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills bring strong structure to our program. Justin is very mechanical and truly a jack of all trades, and that practical mindset brings an important balance to the environment we are creating.
Together, we believe that education is about more than textbooks and assignments. It is about building strong foundations, character, responsibility, and faith in young people.
Cornerstone Faith Academy operates within the Texas homeschool model, where parents remain the primary educators of their children. Our role is to provide the structure, guidance, and learning environment that helps students stay focused and successful while families maintain the freedom and flexibility that homeschooling provides.
Homeschooling has always been a passion for our family, and Cornerstone Faith Academy grew out of that passion. Our goal is to create a place where students can grow academically, socially, and spiritually, while building the discipline and confidence they will carry into the future.
We believe that God builds strong foundations in His timing, and we are grateful to be part of the work He is doing through Cornerstone.
With Christ as the cornerstone (Ephesians 2:20), our mission is to help students build strong foundations that will guide them in faith, learning, and life for years to come.
