Morning Block 9:00 – 9:30 AM This time sets the tone for the entire day. Students begin by settling in, organizing their materials, and preparing their minds for learning. Bible Verse A verse of the week will be written on the board. Students will: Copy the verse in their notebook Reflect on the verse Answer a short prompt Throughout the week, the daily activity connected to the verse will change as we study it more deeply. On Thursday, students will complete a short Bible verse check, which may include the verse, questions, and reflection. Bell Work Bell work is a quick academic review question, and it will always be completed on a worksheet. This helps students: Reinforce previous learning Wake up their brains for the day Show that they understood and remembered what they learned It is a simple way to check understanding before beginning the day’s work. Planner & Organization Students will review their planner and organize their materials for the day. During this time students will: Review assignments Plan their day Organize notebooks and materials Set goals for the day Each student will also use the timer at their desk. Because our schedule is a general guide and not minute-by-minute, students will set timers to stay focused. For example, it is simple to say math is from 9:00–10:00 AM; however, not every student will need every minute, and some students may need more time to complete their work. Setting timers helps students manage their time and stay productive. Example: Set a 25-minute timer to work on Morning Block assignments Set a 20-minute timer for art or another subject This helps students learn time management, independence, and responsibility.
What Math Lab Looks Like Students will rotate through a variety of math-focused activities, such as: • Daily math lessons and practice work • Timed math drills to build speed and accuracy • Math games that reinforce concepts • Problem-solving challenges • Skill practice and review Some students may move quickly through their work, while others may need additional time and support. Math Lab allows students to work at the pace that best supports their learning.

On Wednesdays, students will visit the local library and enjoy time outdoors with other homeschool communities. Students will begin by visiting the library, where they will browse and check out books to support their reading log. This helps encourage regular reading and personal responsibility in tracking their progress. After the library visit, students will eat lunch together at the park. Students should bring their own lunch on Wednesdays and are encouraged to wear their Cornerstone spirit shirt. Students will then participate in park day and recess with other homeschool groups, giving them the opportunity to play, socialize, and build friendships. This time allows students to enjoy reading, outdoor activity, and community connection as part of their weekly routine.
STEM provides students with hands-on opportunities to explore science, technology, engineering, and problem-solving through creative and practical activities. During this time, students will participate in projects that encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and teamwork. STEM Lab allows students to experiment, build, and test ideas while learning how science and engineering apply to the real world.

Clean Up + Close
Life Skills is a hands-on time where students learn practical abilities that help them become confident and capable in everyday life. During this block, students will work on skills that are often learned at home but are important for young people to practice and understand as they grow. Life Skills may include activities such as: • Basic cooking and kitchen safety • Gardening and caring for plants • Simple mechanical skills and learning how things work • Cleaning and caring for shared spaces • Organization and personal responsibility • Problem-solving and teamwork These lessons are designed to help students understand the value of hard work, responsibility, and practical knowledge. The goal of Life Skills is to help students develop confidence and independence while learning skills they will carry with them into adulthood. A rotating Life Skills schedule will be shared once the school year begins so families can see the practical skills students will be learning and practicing throughout the year.
